Jacob Miles; Irvine Woodward; Roy Cheshire; Dave Rogers and Lisa Benn, have all been refereeing on the local Futsal League in Eastbourne, where they have developed their skills to earn the promotion.

As a Level 4 Futsal Referee each of them can now operate on The FA National Futsal League. In Division Two they carry out the role of the Referee and in Division One the role of the Third Referee, who is responsible recording the score and the number of fouls.

The promotion is not purely based on skill; it also requires a very high level of commitment, with the closest National Futsal League matches to Sussex, being played on Sundays in London.

All five are following in the footsteps of England’s FIFA Futsal Referee Marc Birkett, who continues his own success after being appointed as the Third Referee for the UEFA Euro Futsal Final in Antwerp. This follows his appointment as Second Referee for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Final in 2012.
