We are delighted to announced that Lamin Faal has won our Coach of the Year (Disability Pathway) as part of England Football’s Grassroots Football Awards.

This Award looks to recognise a coach in the disability game who is inclusive, encouraging and inspiring when it matters most.

Lamin has been a coach with Seaford Town's inclusive teams for a number of years, working with both children and adults who have a range of disabilities.

Joining the coaching team at Seaford, Lamin was quick to make an impact by playing a pivotal role in the coaching of the clubs’ inclusive team, giving players with a disability the chance to play, who otherwise might have been unable to. He currently coaches the adult side, along with Seaford’s under-12s and under-16s.

The difference Lamin has made to the lives of the people he coaches at Seaford is quite remarkable, what makes Lamin stand out so much is, among many things, his infectious positivity. This makes him a perfect coach for his players.

He has time for every one of his players, enabling them to truly thrive under his tutelage. In all the time that Lamin has been volunteering with Seaford he has never sought any recognition or reward, yet not everyone thought that his hard work and dedication should go unnoticed.

Late last year Lamin won BBC's Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award for the South-East, and since then the attention it has brought to Seaford Town's inclusive teams has had a real impact on the club. More attention is now on the team and has resulted in lots more people wanting to get involved and help.
